Not everything in this lineup starts as elephant grass. This hamper is made from raffia, a palm-leaf fiber with a slightly finer, softer texture, handmade in Ghana with a black vertical stripe running through the weave.

At 15" in diameter and 18" tall, it's sized for a real laundry load, and the braided handles make it easy to carry from bedroom to washer without straining the weave.

Raffia's Own Character

Raffia takes color and stripe patterning a little differently than elephant grass, giving this hamper a slightly softer, more matte finish than its coarser counterparts in the lineup — the same handmade standard, just a different starting material.

Keeping It in Shape

Raffia holds up well to regular use — wipe down with a damp cloth as needed, and keep it away from standing water so the fiber doesn't soften or sag over time.
