The Iluminist uses two stable, gentler forms of vitamin C instead of the pure ascorbic acid that causes most of that irritation, layered with hyaluronic acid and vitamin E in a lightweight aloe and jojoba base.

Two Stable Forms of Vitamin C

Pure ascorbic acid is potent but unstable — it oxidizes quickly once opened and can irritate sensitive skin. Sodium ascorbyl phosphate and sodium ascorbate are both more stable derivatives, gentler on skin while still delivering vitamin C's brightening effect. MSM, horsetail extract, and dandelion root extract round out the formula as supporting botanicals, alongside vitamin E for antioxidant support.

Why Two Forms Instead of One

Different vitamin C derivatives absorb and perform slightly differently on skin. How to Use
