A small marker of direction, carved by hand, meant to sit somewhere you'll actually see it.
This compass soapstone sculpture is hand-carved and Kenya-made from authentic Kisii soapstone in the southwest of the country. The clean compass form and smooth, satin-waxed finish make it equal parts sculpture and quiet symbol, something to mark a season of change, a fresh start, or just the reminder that direction is something you can return to.
It comes as a two-piece set, so it can be displayed together or styled apart depending on the space, making it a versatile piece for desk styling.
Each piece is shaped from a single stone by artisans working in the soapstone hills of southwestern Kenya, then sanded and waxed to a smooth finish. Because it's natural stone, color runs light to dark gray, and every piece is genuinely one of a kind.
Approximately 4-5/8" W x 5-1/4" H x 1-1/2" D. Two-piece set. Material: Kisii soapstone, hand-carved, sanded, and waxed to a satin finish. Color varies naturally from light to dark gray. Care: handle gently, soapstone is a soft stone and can chip if dropped.
A graduation gift, new job, move, or other new-beginnings moment. A desk, shelf, or bedside table that could use one grounding object instead of clutter. Anyone who likes a gift with a little more meaning built in.
Direction isn't something you find once, it's something you keep choosing, a little at a time.
