The Prisma Lamp began with a beautifully simple idea from designer Walmen Dumaliang: take a single 3D-printable shape and array it in a circular pattern. What emerged is a faceted, geometric form that manages to be delicate-looking and genuinely strong at the same time — a small celebration of what 3D printing can do that traditional manufacturing can't.

Its cleverest trick is the living hinge. Because the shade's printing method wouldn't allow a standard threaded connection, Dumaliang engineered levers into the base that slot into gaps in the shade — suspending it halfway up so it appears to float. A problem, solved so elegantly it became the design's signature.

The Light Itself

That floating shade creates the Prisma's defining effect: a natural gradient of light and shadow — soft illumination pooling below, deeper tones above. The room reads dimensional and calm instead of flatly lit. Three dim-to-warm brightness settings and up to 80 hours per USB-C charge mean it goes wherever the evening needs it.

What Makes It Different

The shade is 3D printed from recycled PLA and paired with a recycled aluminum base, printed and assembled to order in Wooj's Brooklyn studio. Slight variations in color and texture come with the process — yours will be the only one exactly like it.
