Same basket family, its own personality.
This large round basket carries the Bolga name, tied to Ghana's Bolgatanga weaving tradition, and adds a black stripe band to the natural elephant grass body. It's individually made, so the stripe placement shifts slightly from basket to basket — no two land in quite the same spot.
At roughly 14" in diameter and 9" tall, it works as a catch-all basket, a planter cover, or a market basket depending on where you set it down, with braided handles that make it easy to move room to room.
Because each basket is individually made rather than mass produced, the person weaving it is paid for that specific piece — not for running a machine that stamps out a thousand identical copies. Buying one supports that piecework directly, not a machine running the same shape a thousand times.
Elephant grass holds up well to regular handling — wipe down with a damp cloth as needed, and keep it away from standing water so the coil stays tight.
Roughly 14" diameter x 9" tall. Elephant grass with a black stripe band and braided handles. Handwoven in the Bolgatanga region of Ghana. Each piece varies slightly since it's made by hand.
Catch-all storage, planter covers, or a market basket that also looks good sitting out. Anyone who wants the Bolga shape with a little more contrast than the all-natural version. This Fair Trade piece comes through Powered by People (a certified B Corp), the wholesale platform that connects Made Brave with independent maker-brands rather than mass manufacturers — buying it supports that sourcing relationship, not just a design.
One basket, one weaver, paid for the piece in front of them.
